The reaction of 2-naphthylamine with NaIO 3 /Na 2 SO 3 /HCl yields exclusively 2-amino-1-iodonaphthalene and not regioisomer 2-amino-3-iodonaphthalene as was previously reported. The assigned structure is supported by spectroscopic data. ...
