The electrophilic fluorination of a wide variety of benzylic phosphonates with N- fluorobenzenesulfonimide has been examined. The fluorination reaction proceeds well in the presence of an array of functional groups such as nitro, bromo, ketone, ester, phenyl and ether groups.
