摘要

A new variant of the Ramberg-Bäcklund reaction is described, the epoxy-Ramberg- Bäcklund reaction (ERBR), in which α, β-epoxysulfones, on treatment with base, are converted into a range of mono-, di-and tri-substituted allylic alcohols. The scope and limitations of the ERBR are discussed.© 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
