Abstract: Decomposition of p-cyano-N, N-dimethylaniline N-oxide (NO) catalyzed by [meso- tetrakis (2, 6-dichlorophenyl)-porphinato] iron (III) chloride ((C1, TPP) Fe"'CI) yields as products p-cyano-N, N-dimethylaniline (DA), p-cyano-N-methylaniline (MA), and formaldehyde (CH, C12 solvent, 25" C, N, atmosphere).
