Investigation of the properties of organic polynitriles such as ethane-l,l,2,2-tetracarbonitrile and 4-oxoalkane- 1,1,2,2-tetracarbonitriles made it possible to develop an ap- proach to various classes of cyano-containing heterocyclic systems.
