The interaction of Zn (II)-and Co (II)-carbonic anhydrase (CA) with a series of compounds possessing moieties resembling the aromatic sulfonamides, such as sulfamide, sulfamic acid, N-substituted aromatic sulfonamides, sulfenamides, sulfinic and seleninic acids, was investigated using kinetic and spectroscopic techniques.
