Q ko. rxd was calculated from p and uo ortho values. studies, 12 based upon reactions between halogenobenzothiazoles and thioalkoxy ions, high steric retardation occurred only with@-branched nucleophiles; in contrast, when the bulky group was moved further away in/3 position, there was an increase of reactivity owing to increasing basicity.
