Abstract A series of six heteroaromatic compounds, ethyl-/methyl-and dimethylfuranones, thiophenones, and cyclopentenones, was synthesized and condensed with a methyl methylpropionate substituted pyrrole, yielding the “right” half of open-chain tetrapyrroles.
