Our research group has been interested in the photochemistry of allylic compounds for some time. 2 It has been reported3 that irradiation of allylamine derivatives 1 gives mixtures of aziridines 2, Schiff bases 3, as well as deallylation products 4, when R is aliphatic or hydrogen, while that of al-lylanilines (R= Ar) gave deallylation 4 or rearrangement product^,^ presumably via bond-homolysis precursors.
