摘要

With optimized conditions, we prepared various alcohol substrates 5-13 to examine the scope and generality of this catalytic reaction sequence; the resulting 1H-cyclopenta[a]naphthalene derivatives 14-22 were obtained in satisfactory yields except for entry 9. As shown in Table [2] , alcohol substrate 5 bearing a 1-phenylethenyl group was transformed into tricyclic compound 14 with a yield up to 87% (entry 1).
