摘要

Displacement of acetoxy groups from bis (acetoxymethy1) ether by a variety of phenols is demonstrated. The effect of various catalysts on the reaction is documented, and a possible role of the catalyst is discussed. Several (ary1oxy) methyl ethers are used for the preparation of (alky1thio) methyl ethers.
