摘要

Summary The hypophosphorous acid reduction of diazonium salts is catalyzed by traces of oxidizing agents and inhibited by small amounts of quinones. This, in conjunction with other facts, leads to the conclusion that the reduction of diazonium salts by hypophosphorous acid is a free radical chain reaction. A detailed mechanism is presented.
