A series of binary (ary1oxy) propanolamines has been prepared and examined in vitro and in vivo for@-adrenoreceptor blocking activity. These symmetrical compounds consist of two (S)-(pheny1oxy) propanolamine pharmacophores coupled through alkylenedioxy or poly (oxyethy1enedioxy) linking units of varying lengths.
