The nonadentate podand tris [3-(6-diethylcarbamoylpyridine-2-carboxamido) propyl] amine (L14) is prepared according to a multistep strategy using the flexible tris (3-(N-methylamino) propyl) amine (Me-TRPN) covalent tripod.
