Abstract New, efficient protocols for the syntheses of the marine natural products prepolycitrin A as well as polycitrins A and B were developed by employing the Heck– Matsuda arylation of maleic anhydride or dimethyl fumarate with aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates.
