摘要

A novel photorearrangement of 3, 3, 5-triaryl-2 (3H)-furanones la-e under acetone or acetophenone sensitization is reported. Sensitized irradiation of la-e in benzene gave a mixture of the photorearranged 2 (5H)-furanones 3 and 4, along with the corresponding phenanthrofuranones 5 and 6, respectively.
