EIT (S-ethylisothiourea) Hydrobromide 是 II 型 NOS 的选择性抑制剂。EIT 对 LPS 诱导的血浆 [NOx] 增加产生剂量依赖性和 > 95% 的抑制。EIT 的 ED50 值为 0.4 mg/kg。用 L-精氨酸(但不是 D-精氨酸)预处理可防止死亡率,同时不影响 II 型 NOS 依赖性 NO 的产生,表明毒性可能是由于抑制其他 NOS 亚型(内皮或神经元)之一 [1 ].选择性 NOS II 拮抗剂减弱但不阻断胎儿肺中剪切应力诱导的血管舒张。NOS II 活性的刺激(可能来自平滑肌细胞)在剪切应力诱导的肺血管舒张过程中部分促成了 NO 介导的 PVR(肺血管阻力)下降。在存在 AMT 或另一种选择性 iNOS 抑制剂 S-乙基异硫脲 (EIT) 的情况下用同种异体抗原刺激的脾细胞比在没有 iNOS 抑制剂的情况下刺激的细胞产生更多的白细胞介素 (IL)-4 和 IL-10。Th1 细胞因子 IL-2 和干扰素 (IFN)-γ 的产生并未因抑制 NO 合成而增强 。急性给予 EIT (380 nmol/h),另一种诱导型一氧化氮合酶选择性抑制剂,也减弱了妊娠引起的肾小球滤过率和有效肾血浆流量的增加。
