Sulfamethizole是磺胺噻唑类抗生素,能抑制细菌的PABA。

磺胺甲二唑作用

磺胺甲噻二唑是细菌对氨基苯甲酸（PABA）的竞争性抑制剂，PABA是二氢蝶酸合成酶的底物。在这些生物体中，抑制反应是合成叶酸所必需的。磺胺甲噻二唑是二氢蝶酸合成酶的抑制剂和叶酸的形成，抑制生物发光而不是生长。用磺胺甲噻二唑处理导致来自敏感菌株（MIC，128微克/毫升）和抗性菌株（MIC，512微克/毫升）的所有样品中细菌计数的显着减少。用sulⅡ基因阳性菌株（MIC，> 2,048微克/毫升）感染不能用磺胺甲噻二唑治疗，因为在尿液，膀胱或肾脏中没有效果。
