由对硝基苯乙酸还原而得。反应器加入水、对硝基苯乙酸和乙酸，搅拌并加热到90-95℃，分次加入铁粉，加毕回流2h，冷却至40-50℃，用碳酸钠中和使pH=9，过滤。滤液用乙酸中和，直至pH=4，析出对氨基苯乙酸。收率为95%。
