In Vitro Chlamydocin is originally isolated from the fungus Diheterospora chlamydosporia. Chlamydocin exhibits a broad spectrum of antiproliferative activity toward various cancer cell lines, irrespective of their p53 status. The antiproliferative activity of Chlamydocin is accompanied by accumulation of hyperacetylated histones H3 and H4, induction of p21cip1/waf1, and accumulation of cells in G2/M phase of the cell cycle[1].
