Biological Activity

[Description]:

Promestriene is a synthetic diethyl-ether of estradiol and a locally effective estrogen. Promestriene has an efficient action on vaginal atrophy while it is minimally absorbed[1][2].

[In Vitro]

Promestriene is an analogue of oestradiol which is minimally absorbed and devoid of systemic effects when administered intravaginally, either as gynecological cream or capsules[2]. Topical Promestriene is minimally absorbed with chronic use and has been reported to significantly improve the symptoms of vaginal atrophy[3].
