Matairesinoside is a lignan with antibacterial and antioxidant activities. Matairesinoside also shows virus-cell fusion inhibitory activity[1][2].

Matairesinoside shows high virus-cell fusion inhibitory activity with the fusion inhibition of 46.7%[1]. Matairesinoside shows prominent free radical scavenging activity in the DPPH assay, with the IC50 is 2.19 μg/mL[2]. Matairesinoside is most active against Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MIC of 0.001 mg/mL)[2].
