Abstract
l, l-Diphenylethane, l, l-diphenylpropane and triphenylmethane were methylated with sodium bis (2-methoxyethoxy) aluminum hydride at 162-183 C to give 2, 2-diphenylpropane, 2, 2-diphenyl butane and l, l, l-triphenylethane, respectively, in essentially quantitative yields. Diphenylmethane reacted with sodium bis (2-methoxyethoxy) aluminum hydride under formation of 1, 1-diphenylcyclopropane, 1, 1, 2, 2-tetraphenylethane and 2, 2- ...
