Abstract
In the previous publications of this series2 it has been shown that conjugation of the 9, lO- double bond of phenanthrene with an exocyclic olefinic group gives rise, in certain cases, to new reaction possibilities. The systematic study of the reactivity of 9-vinylphenanthrenes toward alkali metals, bromine and dienophilic components, has now been extended further.
