Abstract
Secondly, a method has been devised for preparing The droisoquinolines from substituted benzaldehydes in high over-all yields. corypalline and hydrohydrastinine, have been prepared. N-substituted 1, 2J3J4-tetrahydroisoquinolines where the alkyl group is varied from methyl to t-butyl. method uses glycidol followed by periodate oxidation to produce carbons 3 and 4 of the isoquinoline.
