Abstract
Abstract The reactions of isobutyl (isopropoxy) silyl bromides i-Bu n (i-PrO) 3− n SiBr (n= 0– 3) with H 2 S in the presence of Et 3 N yield the corresponding silanethiols, i-Bu n (i-PrO) 3− n SiSH. The transition energy σ→ σ★ and the IP of Si S bond, as well as the first IP of sulphur lone pairs do not change significantly as the number of electronegative i-PrO groups is varied.
