Abstract
An efficient and practical method for the synthesis of unsymmetric benzils from readily available β-ketoaldehydes has been developed. Various unsymmetric 1, 2-diaryldiketones bearing functional groups have been obtained in good to excellent yields under mild reaction conditions.
