Abstract
The hydrogenation of certain unsubstituted amides and ammonium salts of acids over copper-chromium-barium oxide (I) has been reinvestigated. Contrary to previous reports, alcohols rather than amines have been isolated as themajor reduction product. The transalkylation of tertiary amines with alcohols, R&+ R'OH--f RzR'N+ ROH, is described.
