Abstract
Summary Thirteen new esters of a-hexabromostearic acid were prepared and their melting points determined. These white, wax-like solids have definite melting points and are generally soluble in hot organic solvents. The esters of the tertiary alcohols seem to deviate considerably from those of the primary and secondary alcohols in that they have abnormally high melting points and are much less soluble in hot organic solvents.
