Abstract

When 2-phenyl-2-methylhexanoic acid (1) was treated with sodium azide in polyphosphoric acid (ppa), the products of the reaction were aniline (Z), 2-hexanone (3), 2-phenyl-1-hexene (4), trans-2-phenyl-2-hexene (5), cis-2-phenyl-2-hexene (6), and low polymeric material.
