Abstract
4 5 6 products known as lignans. These tetrahydrofuran lignans may exist in six stereoisomeric forms 1-6 (Chart I). These are tetrahydrofuroguaicin B dimethyl ether (1) veraguensin (2), 1618 saucerneol (3), 21 galbelgin (4), 18-20 5 (not reported previously in the literature), and galgravin (6). l* 15 Synthetic (f)-veraguensin'* obtained from the author's previous academic work was found to inhibit PAF binding to platelets.
