Abstract

Abstract 2-Ferrocenyl-2-oxazolines, available from the reaction of chlorocarbonylferrocene with aziridines and subsequent acid-catalyzed isomerisation, are metallated (lithiated) regiospecifically in the 2-position of the ferrocenyl moiety. Further reaction of the metallated compounds with electrophiles gives 1, 2-disubstituted ferrocenes solely.
