Abstract

Cranakalti (1) is a potent smooth muscle relaxant which exerts its activity by opening cellular potassium channels with subsequent hyperpolarisation of the cellular menbrane. a result of this action crunakalim has been shoed to have potential in the treatment of hypertension 1 anrt asthma 2. lSlring the course of studies aimed at introducing a fluorine atan in place of the 3-hydroxyl group in (1) the reaction of (1) with diethylaninosulphur trifluoride (W&ST)
