Abstract
The rapid isomerization of either 1-bromo-2-butene or 3-bromo-1-butene to an equilibrium mixture of the two by hydrogen bromide in the presence of peroxidesz has been suggested to be caused by the reversible addition of bromine atoms to unsaturated linkages."
