Abstract

Dihydrothiazolo ring-fused 2-pyridones have previously been shown to inhibit pilus assembly in uropathogenic Escherichia coli. Methods have now been developed to synthesize both dihydroimidazolo and dihydrooxazolo ring-fused 2-pyridones.
