Abstract
RECEIVED JCLV 21, 1955 The antituberculous activity of isonicotinic acid hydrazide and its related compoundsJ coupled with the knowledge that 4-hydroxyquinoline and 4-hydroxy-3- quinolinecarboxylic acid shows mild tuberculostatic activity4 prompted a study of the influence of an acid hydrazino group in the 6-position of the quinaldine nucleus. For this purpose, 4-hydroxy-6-quinaldine carbohydrazide was prepared.
