Abstract

/OCOCHa Y\CH CHaCOO \OCOCHs CHsCOO I I1 ... In the present communication, a method for the preparation of triacetyl- phloroglucin aldehyde (11) is described, and this method has also been ex- tended to the preparation of diacetyl-8-resorcylic aldehyde and acetyl- salicylic aldehyde. All these aldehydes are smoothly acetylated in ethereal solution with acetic anhydride and anhydrous potassium carbonate in which manner all rise of temperature is controlled. ...
