Abstract
Summary It is pointed out that an examination of the physico-chemical properties of cytoplasm may help to explain the mechanism of cell permeability. The relationship between the iso-electric point, of some leaf cytoplasmic proteins and the hydrogen-ion concentration of the contents of the leaf cells has been determined and is briefly discussed.
