Abstract: The photochemical reaction of 1, 4-naphthaIenedicarbonitrile (NDN) with benzylic derivatives of the general formula PhCHRX (R= H, Ph; X= H, C, 0, S, Si, Sn-bonded substituents) has been investigated.
