Abstract

Abstract An operationally simple oxidative methyl esterification of primary alcohols in good yields using an iodine-mediated poly [4-(diacetoxyiodo) styrene] in methanol at room temperature is described. The polymeric reagent can be regenerated and reused as an environmentally benign reagent.
