Abstract
-78 C+ 0 C RAR'variety of selenocyanates, including aryl and aliphatic derivatives (Table I), were prepared by this route in good to excellent yields. The vinylic cy-silyl selenocyanate 2e and the alkynyl selenocyanates 2a also were prepared, in anticipation of their conversion to selenoketenes and selenocumulenes, respectively. The a-selenocyanate derived from allyltrimethylsilane (lb) was sought as a precursor to the unknown seleno-
