Abstract
Results The preparative results of these investigations are summarized in Scheme I. Thus (E)-l-phenyl-3-(trimethyl-sily1)-1-propene (1) was obtained in 32% yield starting from allyltrimethylsilane and iodobenzene by using traditional Heck conditions. However, conducting the reaction at 50" C in MezSO in the presence of silver ions allowed the isolation of the isomer (E)-3-phenyl-l-(trimethylsily1)-1-propene (2) in 55% yield. Subjecting
