Abstract

Abstract o-Amino-N-hydroxybenzenesulfonamides have been treated with aldehydes to prepare 2-hydroxy-1, 2, 4-benzothiadiazine 1, 1-dioxides. These products have permitted the fusion of an additional ring to the “b” face of the benzothiadiazine. Analogs of the tricyclic compounds have been made in other ways.
