Abstract

New ionophores derived from azacrown ethers attached to coumarins have been synthesized and characterized. The alkaline-earth complexes of these new ligands were studied from their UV vis, NMR, and fluorescence data. Some systems displayed bathochromic shifts and fluorescence decreases upon complexation with Ca2+ that may make them useful signaling devices of this metal. Key words: alkaline earth, emission, ...
