Abstract
Abstract A Staudinger/aza-Wittig reaction sequence is described that is catalytic in phosphorus. Towards this end, the phosphane oxide is reduced in situ by diphenylsilane, which allows for substoichiometric amounts of the catalyst 5-phenyldibenzophosphole to be used.
