Abstract
There have been relatively few previous reports1 concerning the electrochemistry of 2- cyclohexen-1-one. Reduction of 2-cyclohexen-1-one by a sodium amalgam or by magnesium or zinc in acetic acid as well as by means of controlled-potential electrolysis has been shown by Touboul et al. 2, 3 to afford mixtures of cyclohexanone, 3, 3′-dioxo-1, 1′- bicyclohexyl, and three diethylenic ketones.
