Abstract

We now wish to describe a novel series of compounds possessing a 2-substituted 4H-3, 1- benzoxazin-4-one structure, some of which, besides having the ability to lower plasma cholesterol and triglyceride levels, possess the ability to raise not only the proportion of total cholesterol carried by HDL (an effect that can often be produced by a reduction of the other lipoprotein levels) but also the absolute levels of HDL cholesterol compared to control ...
