Abstract 13C NMR spectra of the compounds (C6H5), GeHe,, and (C6H5),, GeH3, Na (n= 1, 2, 3) as well as (p-CH3C6H,), GeM (M= H, Na) have been recorded and assigned. Comparison of the chemical shifts with those of analogous group 5B compounds demonstrates that the extent of delocalization of the negative charge of the germy1 anions into the aromatic rings is significantly less than that found in the anions of phenyl- ...
