Abstract
The Acid from the Polymerized Ester.-The polymerized ester was hydrolyzed by dissolving it in 15 parts of acetone and adding to the boiling solution 5 equivalents, based on the monomolecular ester, of alcoholic potassium hydroxide. The latter was added, drop by drop, at such a rate that the material remained in solution continually during the hydrolysis.
