Abstract

Dehydronorcoralydine iodide (11) was synthesized. Hydrochlorides of 3-(3f, 4f- dimethoxyphenyl)-6, 7-dimethoxyiso-quinoline, 1-methyl-4-(3', 4'-dimethoxyphenyl)-6, 7- dimethoxyisoquinoline, l-methyl-4-phenyl-6, 7-dimethoxyisoquinoline, l-methyl-6, 7- dimethoxyisoquinoline and 5-methyl-2, 3, 1O, ll-tetramethoxybenzo[a] phenanthridine (IX) were prepared by phosphorus oxychloride cyclization of appropriate amides, ...
